Gillian Turner's art practice focuses on conceptual work including installations. She has a special interest in untold stories of women in small communities, working with local materials as much as possible and often includes found objects. Her first installation for Natimuk in 2019 included voice/stories of local farming women in the Wimmera. The presentation used old wooden lampstands and re-worked lampshades sourced from local charity shops.

Gillian has been invited to show her photographic mixed media images in the International Women’s Exhibition, Melbourne, for the past few years, and awarded a gold medal in VIGEX International Photographic Exhibition for her creative photographic work.

Gillian lives in Clifton Springs where she has a studio/gallery and has a long history of working with ACT Natimuk. She is also a professional harpist, a published writer and an experienced educator.

Gillian will be holding an Artist talk on Saturday and Harp playing on Saturday & Sunday afternoon.
